applying at siemens...
Is it not possible to drop a resume at a branch and talk to a human? I was told to apply online only by the reception girl when i called.

I was able to get a hold of someone, but he didn't want to talk to me at all, I found him through ASHRAE contacts.
I rec'd that very treatment from Johnson, when I was out of state introducing myself a while ago.
Some places are just like that.

Siemens is very big on resumes from references, at least in our branch it is. Apply online at Siemens careers.

It has to do with the HR processes. All new hire screenings are done online. The hope is that this will keep people from stopping by unannounced and allow the branches to have a more formalized interview and screening process. Not saying its right or wrong, but that's the logic.
