Off duty cop thinks he is a service tech, Yea Right!
Off duty cop wanted to help his sister out, So he installs a new condenser fan mtr. OK, 1st he lost the set screw, So he forces this cannon into the hole and cross threads it (But it tightens down), Then he sets the fan blade at the bottom of the shaft (Furthest away from the motor), Drain plug not pulled, Here is the best part... 220v motor. 1 leg to one side of contactor, the other side of 220v off motor to lo-volt 24v on side of contactor. System is a rheem ac, connected to a rheem gas furn in attic. I get a call for no heat.. Power somehow backfed through the 24v to 110v and the off/on (light switch) became a fuse and blew up killing pwr to the furn... Board worked fine. How? I have no idea.

it was working.... played with it.... now its broke.... whats the going hourly rate for HVAC repair

At least it was only the on/off switch that blew up, sure could have been worse for the system

I'm guessing there is a tire weight on the blade to balance the fan.
