has anybody changed just the head of a discharge bypass valve. Found one leaking on a Dectron unit very rusted from chlorine . It says it is removeable but it feels frozen on. I may just braze a new complete valve.

Might appear to be frozen because of the chlorine environment. The element has wrench flats on it so it can be removed.

You will need to get the head off whether you repair or replace...
