    I can't confirm #1. #2 is technically true since unburned natural gas is not the same as home heating oil. However, it seems as if he's either ill-informed or he's trying to pull one over on me.

    It took about a month of calling (probably not a bad sign that the plumber is busy) but, I finally reached someone at the reference that Jim provided. Unfortunately, I am out of their service area. That guy referred me to a company closer to my home. When I called them they said they don't normally work on oil systems but, would be willing to come out and look. The guy at the 2nd company said they had instruments to measure O2, CO2, and CO.
    Should it be this hard to find someone who works with oil and has current training in the Boston area? Can someone provide a reference closer to the 02453 area?
