Is the Religious Right to blame for Christianity's decline?

They argued that, as the Religious Right became increasingly visible and militant, it became associated with Christianity itself. And if being a Christian meant being associated with the likes of Jerry Falwell, many people—especially political moderates and liberals—decided to simply stop identifying as Christians altogether.

I usually frown on reviving old posts, but I think the topic is still of interest.

I got a call to play with Johnny Rawls http://www.johnnyrawlsblues.com/ later this month.
Sept. 21 we play at the Fire & Ice Festival. https://www.facebook.com/events/2088126554801426/
And on Sept. 22 at the Court Street Grill in Pomeroy, OH http://www.courtstreetgrill.com/

I hadn't yet heard of the following back in 2013...I think you'd get a kick out of it if you haven't seen it.

Baker is why "Sunshine" feels so think for such a simple tune and three guys.

Many of the guys in these video links in this thread are not going to be around much longer. I doubt there will ever be such a talented musical convergence as there was in during the sixties and seventies. Really makes me a bit sad - but the wife is out of town for the weekend...I believe I'll dust off the strat and heal myself.

I have watched that documentary several times. Two things I can say about Ginger Baker; he was a genius on the drums and also crazy as a loon!

I can’t tell if you’re kidding me. I’m not in either of those pictures though I think there may be a picture of me way back in the thread.
I’ll try to get a picture of me with one of my kits from an upcoming gig.
Come to think of it I’ll have some video before too long as we hired a videographer and they’ve been to three of our recent gigs.

Two of the greatest ever need some love

Bernard Pretty Purdie, who backed Aretha back in her hay day

Jeff Pocaro, who busted out in his teens professionally.

Together, they probably are the two most recorded drummers in history.

I guess that’s a good thing. I try to not be an old fogey but don’t always succeed.
I see a similarity. Us old white guys start to look alike after a while. At least we both still have our hair.
