    Boiler fun

    What year is that? Mid 60s?
    Is that rust from combustion spilling?

    I never got a date code of of it. They said it was original I think the house was built in the 60s.the rust was from my guess spillage from burners.boiler was non operable never tried to fire it when I was there.

    Judging by the fairly new #30 Extrol tank, it is being used.

    I wouldn't touch it unless I was replacing it. You touch it, you own it.

    That looks like laundry room. Might be some bleach and corrosive fumes in the air. If it runs as a cold start boiler, and they only run it when they get cold, they could get a lot of condensing flue gases. Or, they are trying to run it as a condensing boiler for the increase in efficiency

    I just saw that exact same boiler here in an old house here in michigan. The roll out doesnt look as bad as that not sure how though they have at least 40' of horizontal run on the exhaust vent.

    We installed a new boiler next day
