Sporlan thermostatic element
I have a BQ combo kit and want a thermosatic element that works for a 507 cooler. Acording to our supplier, he says go with the kt-43-sc. This, according to the sporlan bulletin, is not right and should be a kt-43-pc. He swears that others are using the sc charge. It looks to me light the freezer element sz is good for 404 and 507, but the sc cooler element is only good for 404a. Any thoughts?

You are correct: For medium temp R-507 applications you need to use the PC charge.
If you look at the pressures for R-404A and R-507 in the medium temp range, you'll see that the 507 pressure is 4-5 lbs higher than 404A (depending on the saturation temp). There is not enough corresponding pressure developed from the original R-502 charge (which is what the SC charge is) to counteract the higher 507 pressure....hebce the PC charge was introduced for that application.
