Help with Rover v6

Hello, I work in the IT department in our facility and have been put in charge of replacing the laptop that we currently have Trane Rover v6 installed on. The only issue is that my predecessor must have either gotten rid of or misplaced the disk. I have been working with our maintenance workers, but they claim that it was given to IT and never returned (this was several years ago). After scouring our offices, I can safely say that it is nowhere to be found. I have the registration key off of the current laptop, but I wasn't sure if there was a way to transfer the software to the new laptop. I would greatly appreciate any help that you'll provide.

v6 is out of date so you might as well up date to 7.1 sp9 from your local Trane office they can install and register it for you.

Will they have to purchase a new license to do the upgrade?
