Cool FengsHVAC a Professional HVAC Tech teach you how to fix Ice Cream Unit from Turkey

Problem: the ice cream unit is not cooling.

Insight: compressor was running, but the temperature was reading about 45 degree, and the evaporator fans were not running, sightglass bubbled.

Solution: there was a leak at the king valve, fixed the leak. I charged the unit about 6LBS of R404a, while the manufacture name plate states 3LBS only. They made a mistake, I charged by superheat and subcooling. when I put in 5LBS, it was still low, so I had to put in 6LBS to make it cool properly. This unit was from Turkey. Hahaha. It's working fine now. The picture show 18 degree, but it drop down to -5 degree at setpoint...

3 kg (kilograms) is the same as 6.6 pounds...seeing how it was from europe, i would think that all nameplate data would be in metric units...so perhaps they did not make a mistake.

Feng you're still posting these step by step things in an open forum. The tech to tech is open to everyone and this should be kept in the "pro" forums.

what? your calculation? you said the nameplate was 3 lbs. you said you think 6 lbs is the proper charge in your original post.

perhaps you should post a step by step process in how to understand a nameplate.

i do not think that 'newbie' describes you properly.

Dude, u try to mess with me or what? I didn't say I think 6lb is proper charge. I said that 6 lbs is a proper charge. That was what I meant. And the manufacture name plate states charge about 1.36 kilogram which is 3 3lbs.. Am I clear now.. I think u should go to hospital to check your brain
