I need some help. The guide vane cable broke on my 17ex. Comp has a little over 100,000 hrs with NO maint. With so much run time i have decided to replace the comprssor with my spare, i have on site and overhaul the old one. Problem is my spare is a reman purchased from carrier several years back and there are some small differences. Mostly the routing of oil tubing no big deal. Most importantly a vent line on the shaft side right above the inlet shaft. My old one has a 1" port which connects to top of cooler. My spare has just a 1/4" port. Trying to figure out why the differene and if 1/4" in ok or shuold i drill and tap/weld to make 1" connection. Any advice.
