We have some trble on a rooftop unit, and techs have been out 4 times. When I go to the stat and set mode to "off",unit continues to run and fan blows cold air. I throw the breaker for a minute or two, then the unit heats fine for a few days. Then problem returns, no error codes are displayed on the unit. Thanks

Sounds like a safety is tripping somewhere you need to check it instead of throwing breaker.
I advise that a professional should be brought in to see what is going on inside the unit.
I am a non AOP member, guess I posted this thread in the wrong forum, although for the life of my I cant figure out how to move it or close it. Dont want to get booted off of here. Pretty good info. Thanks for the info, but I am not pursuing this issue on this forum any further.
You've done nothing wrong.

As far as what type of problem you're having, I just had got done struggling with a problem that sounds very similar to that and found an issue with damaged wiring. It took me several hours of lying on the roof in single-digit weather to find and repair the issue.
