Your gonna marry that thing and end up living there.

If you do it right then why not. Its a pretty simple system. So why not take the job and make a few dollars on the labor.

make sure to price it to make a profit and cover the callbacks.
as for Greeks being the worst, Russians probably beat them. Had a Russian landlord tell me to go "F" myself when he asked the on call cost to go look at a water heater he has screwed with for the last week and can't keep lit.
He said in very, very, very poor English, "...he could buy a new water heater for that..."
Well good luck with that, a unit for less than 2 c notes.
The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing the greatest amount of free meals and stamps EVER.
Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals". Their stated reason for this policy "... the animals become dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Of course that factor is always in there.. Russians are up there they can do it all mentality

I agree... Sometimes it's better to just walk away and let somebody else deal with it.

No way, I would not touch that. Once you have done all this repair work, it is yours forever. If the compressor fails in the spring he's gonna want you to cover it under "warranty". Ya gotta know when to fold em.

I would fix it... Looks like a nice job for 2 guys for the day....
Not much different than your typical heat x job with a little extra wiring.

Exactly, I dont know why all these people are scared of a little work..
New Heat exchanger
burners
pilot crossover tube and orifice
ignition module
flame sensor+ spark rod
gas valve
roll out switch
Do a little wiring to get it back to how it came from the factory and shes as good as new in the heating section.
If someone wont buy a new unit, who cares its their choice and money..
-
X2 I love york I would be quoting it to make $. And rebuild the heating side for the guy. As for the cooling it would say on bill that's not covered. If this unit scares some guys let's talk about a Lennox RTU. Those can make a grown man cry. Just use that cool picture thing on the inside of the door. (wire diagram)

Well guys I think the man gonna stay with no heat or gonna hire a hack to blow up the thing.. said my quote is to much and that he can't offered it.. so I thanked him and said good luck. If he decided differently he can call.

I like when they have someone else do it real cheap and they call YOU back when it's not working right.
