    Generac 2 day training

So I just went to the 2 day Generac training and have nothing but good things to pass on about the class. Going in, I really didn't know anything about standby generators, and now would feel confident installing one with transfer panel. The class was much more focused on troubleshooting than installation, but I think that was a good thing. My only complaint is that the class was through Butcher (our Trane dealer), and they didn't inform us that we will only be factory authorized to do warranty work on Honeywell generators, not on Generacs. Exact same genny, except for a pretty Honeywell label on it. The company I'm with isn't really looking to do warranty work on generators that we don't install, but a little heads-up would have been nice.

So your company is going to start selling and installing backup generators? We are taking a serious look at adding this service to our company.

Yes, we are getting into generators. They are getting much more popular down here and not very many people around can work on them. I think the plan is to sell them mostly to our existing customers and sell maintenance contracts to whoever we can.
