Looking for Mendota D-30 gas valve
Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum - hope you can help! We had a Mendota D-30 gas insert, purchased 2003, worked fine. Recently removed it and sold it on Craig's list. The purchaser is now saying that its defective and that the fireplace tech he had install it (apparently used to Mendota) is saying that the main gas valve (Honeywell 05-02-00293) is non-functioning. Worse the valve is obsolete! The purchaser wants us to take it back (and refund him obviously). I'd rather help him find a replacement valve.
Does anyone know where I can get one from? I feel bad for him, but it worked fine when we sold it.
Any comments, advice, help??
Thanks all

Any competent wholesaler would be able to look up the superseding part.
The technician the buyer had out is either lazy or incompetent to not know this.
It's unlikely you'd be able to get one, being a home owner

Contact your nearest Mendota dealer for support and the correct valve. Do not try to use just any old valve as you can have major problems.Keep the fire inside the fireplace.
