    Confused Heat Pump Problems

    Heat pump is running for 12 hours. Runs all night during these cold nights and shuts off in the morning. Is this normal?
    Should the thermostat display "Auxiliary Heat" then the electric heat is on?

    What type of climate do you live in? If it is 10 degrees out...then yes that's normal. If it is 60 degrees out....then no that's not normal.
