New to the site, been in the trade for about 8 years now. I am a union sheetmetal mechanic. Been moonlighting with service and residential for a few years now. Learning alot on my own and from buddies in the trade, but sometimes its nice to get an outside opinions on things.
Also been laid off for almost a year. Starting my own residential business to make up for it. Looking forward to a new chapter in this career.

I agree. I have worked 495 hours in 3 years. I am debating on staying with the union and just paying my benefits for myself. Its a tough decision.
