Professional Tech teach you how to fix your AC or Heat
Problem: furnace is not working, no heat.
Cause: somebody installed this thermostat and didn't take out the white plastic piece in the middle of the thermostat, so when you turn the heat on, it didn't close the contact and call for heat.
Solution: take the white plastic piece out and call for heat, heat turns on.

it was probably safer with the plastic in place.

Solution.... send that poor tired old furnace to the HVAC graveyard before the HX fail, if it hasn't already, and install a digital thermostat.
At mnimum, get that furnace inspected. IS there a cover for the burner compartment? or is it just removed for the photo?

Hey teach. Can you come over to the chiller forum. There are oil issues on the 30HX machines you may be able to save us from.

By the look of that dirty diverter this furnace is long overdue for a cleaning/inspection.
The thermostat looks like a landlords special and what the heck is that wiring coming in on the left side of the furnace.
Glad you could get the heat back on, maybe you could go the extra mile and do some real work on that tired old carrier/bdp furnace.

Hey Feng I just rebuilt a HGBV on a 30 ton TS chiller. What should I set it at? It's an R22 machine. A little help.
