Why do you like the digicool over the testo? I can't decide between the two.

Wow, you've got a chunk of change laying there.

Jason-do the digicools, you won't regret it.

I own both and my testo 557 are out for repairs, its been almost a month, less than a year old and they leaked, the micron gauge feature is over 1000 microns off, testo are pieces of junk, in the other hand my digi-cools are 4 years old and work like when new.

Go with the digi cools. I have the 550s and only issue was a bad temp clamp. But I think the ak900s are a tougher and better built gauge. Get the clamps with them.

Proud to say I love my Digi-Cool gauges also and will not go back to analog.

I would say that the testo 550's are fine as a basic set of digital gauges, but comparing them to the Digicools is silly.

The AK 900's are tougher, more accurate, have vastly better support, and put all the critical info on the screen at the same time, making your diagnostics more efficient. When I bought my 550's They were available through the local supply house, and the digi's weren't, also the AK 900 wasn't yet available.

I have yet to see the perfect set of temperature probes. There isn't a brand out there that has that down pat. Where flexibility in modifying the design is king, digicool seems to be the leader there as well. We have several members that have modified their digi's and have posted results.

In a nutshell the AK 900 is a design that offers a great balance of price and performance among the current offerings.

$286 for DigiCool AK900s. Is that a good price?

I use the cooper pipe straps with my ak900 and love them.
