One day - Gun appreciation day.
Looks like training ain't workin well. My dog could pass the CCW class (if he had thumbs!)

Interesting list there. First you tend to give the reader the idea that these shootings were related to the Gun Appreciation Day gatherings. If you actually read them you will see that there is not a shred of evidence that these people were CCW permit holders or had any training. Furthermore, all seem to be gang, drug or crime related incidents or not enough information was provided to determine anything of use.
Since these are the very kind of people who dont obey the law any gun control would only prevent those of us who are legal CCW holders with training from being able to defend ourselves.
You sir simply dont think very deeply!!

I suppose the people who are insisting that there is no problem - no compromise - my way or the highway - are the deep thinkers. Worked out well in the last election didn't it. Time to wake up and see both sides before you ruin it for all of us.

So tell us then Net, how many from your list involved legally owned guns or CCW permit individuals?

I don't think that is the point. The public realizes there is a problem and wants a solution, it really doesn't matter if the weapons used were legal or illegal. If the NRA and others insist that arming more people is the answer they will lose. If gun owners draw a line in the sand that includes special rights beyond what we give other citizens - right or wrong they will lose. I do not want to win the battle and lose the war.

That is EXACTLY the point! Gun control laws would do NOTHING to affect or curtail illegal activity. These criminals are already breaking the law (more than likely several), so how is adding more laws (that they won't follow either) going to be safer for me?
Passing laws for the sake of doing something isn't the right thing to do.Last edited by ControlsInMT; 01-22-2013 at 11:00 AM. Reason: spelling

That is your opinion, even if you have the statistics it won't sway public opinion. There are lots of things I can name and prove statistically that the public will still deny. Just look at trickle down economic theory, the public bought that hook line and sinker and some still do but now the vast majority see it as a failure.
Gotta know which way the wind is blowing.
