combustible gas leak detector

I've started having problems with my third uei gas detector and even if they will replace it again I don't want it. There is nothing more embarassing then having your fancy test equipment malfunction in front of the customer. What is everyone else using and how does it hold up? Three failures in less then a year is too much, I don't think I'm being rough with it. It stays in the foam lined box that I keep my combustion analyzer and manometer in and both of those are fine, and they all come inside where its warm at night. So now I figure its just the low quality made in tiwain crap and I'm looking to replace it preferably with something made in usa.

I like it, c batteries though, the shop only buys AA and 9 volts maybe I'll be able to convince them to get me some cs. How long have you been using it, and how do the batteries last?

I use the Bacharach leakator jr. Nice and small and super sensitive.

I have had it for five months and not changed batteries yet, it depends on how much you use it. The batteries are not off the shelf batteries so you may want the one with rechargeable batteries. I previously had another Sensit I bought in the early 1990's but lost it in a truck fire then I bought this one. It worked great all those years.
