lennox G61 or Trane TUX080R942W

Hi,
I need to replace my 24 year old Pulse gas furnace
(G14-q480) because of the carbon problem and it is out of warranty.

One contractor offers the same price for a Lennox G61 or Trane TUX080R942W. Both companies have the same warranty.

Please help me to choose one between those two systems. I am looking for a reliable furnace.

Not really apple to apple

The Trane is a single stage 90% furnace.

The Lennox is a two stage 90%.

I'd go two stage with a 2-Stage T-stat for COMFORT.

Not knowing where you are from, I'd look into the two stage variable speed system.

Could you please recommend a couple 2 stage T-stat?

The reason I did not want to spend money for a variable speed system because I won't be in that house for more than 5 years.

My bad.. You are right, it is a two stage furnace.. The model's number are close so it kinda threw me off.

I'd go with the Honeywell Pro lines Either the VisionPro or FocusPor t-stat.

Both are very good t-stat, and if the installer is not able to pull wire to make it work with a two stage, then I'd go with the Honeywell IAQ, It will only use 3 wires, and then a control mounted on the return duct to tie the furnace to.

I personally would and have installed the Lennox g61-mpv-.
your previous Lennox has lasted for 20 years, why not try the next generation of Lennox's furnace's.
More efficient in saving money and noise volumes.
Very nice furnace.

i had a lennox g61v installed in july and love it i did look into a trane but it came down to the installer and im glad i took my time i also got a better payment plan and found out the trane company lost there contract with ???? HOMODEPOT. The company that did install it has bein great and the install was awesome

That rating is based on questions asked of subcontractors.
The rankings are based

Using that ranking as a sales tool to promote one product as better than another to consumers is dishonest, and possibly fraudulent IMO.

The Consumer reports rankings, that are based on consumer feedback, have them in a totally different order...
