No one would sell a product if warranty for them was a problem but Lennox makes it hard for non dealers to get their parts & very costly. Other companies like Carrier, Goodman, Rheem, Ruud, Heil, etc... make it a lot easier for the non-dealer to get warranty parts as long as you're a licensed contractor. If you're a Lennox dealer it's for your benefit & not the customer's because it limits his options when it comes to service. It has nothing at all to do with quality.

Agree with Garyed, but when our parts person spends 30 minutes plus on hold with Lennox, it's time to simply call them (Lennox) a pain in the ass to deal with. We were an authorized dealer for 25 years or so, but got really tired of the problems dealing with them. If there is just one brand I'd not recommend dealing with....uh...they'd be at the top. Someone has made the customer/contractor service folks immune from simple efficiencies. "Go on Dave Net", well problem seems to be that ordered, and waiting until is shows up does not explain anything to customer as to availability. Just hard folks to deal with.

Lennox... we are not a dealer. They have had great classes in our shop.(actual teaching not selling) They seem to have a decent product. Warranty or parts involves 45 minutes minimum of someone's life wasted on hold. Our parts guy expressed his displeasure politely once and the lady hung up on him. Warrenty and such is such a pain when someone asks what brand do you recommend usually tell them they are all about the same just don't get a lennox.

As already mentioned, if out of warranty, Lennox parts are horribly expensive. Shocks the customer what the repair will cost, but then again it's an ideal opportunity to sell them a new complete unit however based on our experience with Lennox, we won't recommend their brand of replacement either. Some where some one sold them on the idea that they can be a PIA to deal with and still maintain a share of the US HVAC market. I'm glad I'm not that person, but then again some lead by example....sometimes by not being the best example, but instead the worst.
