fx40 (J403) smtp through gmail sms?
I have had a personal email account running the alarms outgoing account on my fx40 for the last 5 or 6 years. that account is going away, and i am trying to use either me gmail account or my outlook 365 account for the smtp server.
Not having luck with either of these.
the gmail account sets up fine, polls fine status ok but never delivers a single sms to the phones email address (these do work with my old personal smtp server)
Has any one had any luck with using gmail? or some free server?
this one has me stumped

Turn on spy for SMTP and you should be able to find out what is stopping yr emails
most often...
Authentication 'on' when it should be off
Most (pretty much all) internet providers will not relay mail...you need to use their SMTP server which means you need an email account with them
Wrong port number1 + 1 = 3 ( *** for very large values of 1)

I don't believe that Gmail will work, but GMX mail does.
