    Price of R22 just shot up again!

    Just got word from one my suppliers that the price of R22 just took another jump .
    I miss you mom and dad.

    I heard yesterday that the big increase is coming on Monday due to supplies running out... and that's interesting because the JohnstoneSupply.com web page lists the origin of R22 as CHINA. I suspect this means CHINA is not exporting due to political reasons and expected internal usage as their folk get more like our folk and demand AC in the Gobi desert.

    As long as dry condensers continue to be sold R22 demand will remain high.

    A local dealer here sold some dry R-22 condensers to replace some older condensers at an apartment complex and the apt. tech used R-410 in all of them.

    He asked me if I thought that'd be a problem, I said, only if they start coming back burnt up.

    That was early this Summer and none have come back yet...

    there are several drop in replacements for 22. the price will continue to go up as long as customer continues to pay it!!
