Norlake Freezer problem? unit runs for a few hours than warms up

Really! Good to know. I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise but never had that problem before. Had a couple seize up though.

Is it a relay that welds shut?
Or have you ever determined the cause?
I usually install the Intermatic/Grasslin DTMV-40 or the newer one with the automatic voltage selection - can't remember the model number...
Is there a better defrost timer on the market? I suppose I can go back to the 8045, 8145 Paragon mechanicals but they seize up a lot, burn out their contacts, etc. and are almost twice the price at times.

I ran into this last week. These are the mechanical clocks with the small rockers around the outside of the dial. I had one defrost that wouldn't terminate, the rest were fine. Must be part of the rocker broken or worn.

I like the paragon 8145 it's a workhorse. They all have problems but in my neck if the woods the grasslin clicks don't seem to hold up due to the salt in the air. The boards corrode out to quickly.

Come on guys, its easy. Throw name plate away that states charge because its wrong, Fix leak on king valve and charge with about 6lbs of r404a. Viola, its fixed.
