That doesn't seem right does it?
That sure doesn't sound right to me. I wonder what makes it do that?
After it starts to warm up is the evaporator covered with frost? Fully covered? Partially covered? Is there a sight glass moisture indicator? If so; what color is it?

Found one yesterday that the grasslin defrost clock would intermittently stay closed on 3 to power defrost heater.

relays stick in temp controller stick. replacing a controller tomorrow....wouldn't turn off compressor, this one got too cold...surprise suprise suprize...sgt. carter.
