What is on a receipt that makes it that long? A bunch of coupons to come back tomorrow and get 5% off your next shoe purchase over $40 or what?

How are your other taxes? In NY the tax capital, they are brutal. I would love to move but we are settled here for now.

I've heard that NY is bad. Taxes here don't seem that bad, Wisconsin state payroll tax is nothing compared to federal w/h, fica, and medicare. No toll roads or other crazy fees that I can think of right off hand. There are probably other states that are better than here though.

Ecomony is kind of slow, in my area at least. I am working 40hrs a week, but if I lost my job I would have a difficult time finding another.

Look at the bright side, everybody who read this thread knows the last four of your Visa, what kind of boots you wear and that you bought a 24 count of "Preggie" something or other.

At the least the people who cut down trees and sell the cash register tape are happy.
The picture in my avatar is of the Houston Ship Channel and was taken from my backyard. I like to sit outside and slap mosquitos while watching countless supertankers, barges and cargo ships of every shape and size carry all sorts of deadly toxins to and fro. It's really beautiful at times.....just don't eat the three eyed fish....

9 & 1/2 percent sales tax in the immediate Seattle area. And our car licenses are based on the value. The gov is talking about raising the tax again cause they pretty much follow what the Federal Government does....that means they spend a lot more than they take in, don't care, raise taxes, licenses, fees and most anyway they can get money from the working folks.

And just take a guess at the party they represent.

Just measured my receipts from the liquor store (1 item) and Safeway (2 items) both 12 inches long. Most of it was messages saying how much I saved or asking if I would like to fill in an online survey of how my shopping experience was.
