    Duct heater elements

    Anyone know where to find stocked restring kits for non-domestic heat strips?
    I'm looking for a 1.3 KW @ 480 volt string kits and cannot believe the difficlty replacing these.

    Can't help you with that, tjb, but have you pulled the old heater yet? If you haven't, you may find that it also has some broken ceramic isolators, and they'll need replacing too. If this is your site, or contract, it may be worthwhile to buy a replacement assembly and scavenge the good parts off the old one for future repairs.

    If your nearest parts house stocks Mars products, Mars does produce restring kits for 480v. I had a vav with 2-5kw elements that needed restrung. In the parts catalog they did have various sizes.
