This time it was the IT department who are the guilty party. Anyone else really dislike the laziness of which networking cables are ran over a suspended ceiling?!

Man I hate IT guys. We were in a hospital last week, trying to fix a leak and you couldn't get to the piping above the ceiling for all the sloppily run CAT 5. Those guys are lazy and worthless in my opinion. Why do we have to run our control wires in metallic conduit and fire stop the penetrations, but they can poke holes in 2 hr walls and just drape their stuff everywhere and no ones cares?

Biggest pain in the *** of anybody in the commercial/institutional side.

That installer could learn a few things from the RCB, specifically putting the stuff back in the cardboard box and taping it up after connecting the wires.

I had to run a lineset for a remote condenser for a mani in a ceiling that looked like that. Somehow one of the cables came a little loose on a box that was hanging like that and we didn't notice. Someone had to go and take the cable and reseat it. Oh my god where we in trouble.

The IT person said we need to be careful what we are doing, and I replied back with "you need to be careful with how you leave this stuff hanging."

Haha, god forbid he get off his ass and do something. In situations like that I have been more than inclined to just start cutting with my dykes and see what happens then.

I don't expect it to be in conduit, but at least strap your stuff to to our hangars, joists, or something. Wire ties are cheap.

we had to go out and look at a low air flow problem. we found the alarm co had somehow wrapped around our duct and pulled tight. told the tennat it was there problem. lol
