had emergenncy call other day no heat
Ruud Upflow furnace 90+
Model UGRA-07EMAES
removed top cabinet door noticed water in their below the inducer motor.
this unit was located in a outside closet like 6 feet by 6 feet to a condo.
checked the 3/4 inch pvc piped to outside from the unit.
the outside elbow had ice on it going to the ground, no heat strip on the line to keep it from freezing yesterday was 19f out.
anyway, watched it fire up then after a minute it would go off.
looked in through the plastic peek hole at the board both green lites on did not see a fault code.
removed the bottom cover seen the wiring plug comming from the to cabit was also all wet took it wiped it dry, blew in them the male plug and the femal plug to get the water out.
put it back together.
then cleaned all water out of the top cabinet, also some water on the vent pipe inside top cabinet, guess from the heat from the burnes caused it to get up on there
put covers back fired it up, watched it cycle normal working good now.
told homeowner they needed a heat strip on that line to keep it from happening again.
was thinking after i left if i should have took that male and female plug I put back together.
BEND it up so if the water ever worked its way down again from that top cabinet it would drip off the wires and not go into the male and female plugs.
