I have never even seen this style or brand.
Any ideas of date and manf on this?

not certain of brand, those were designed to stack on top of each other
several mfg's made units of that design

It's not THAT old. They are usually installed in apartments, commonly in a utility room with the face of the unit mounted facing outside through a hole in the wall. You can still buy them: http://www.johnstonesupply.com/store...odB99-983.html

I had a rental house with one of these in it once. I think it was ICP or Interthem or something. Never gave me any trouble. Evap was on an old oil furnace.

You sure it ain't a empire heater?

in the '70s or so westinghouse made those. had a contactor with a 120 volt coil powered by a relay with a 24v coil.
never figured out why the redundancy

I can't quite tell if Westinghouse or Space Conditioner. Regardless, lots older than 85!
-
looks like Westinghouse we were installing early to mid 70's.

worked on one like that this summer. The customer was out there with me asking questions about what could be wrong while I tryed to open the cabinet. It was backed up to the wall so I couldn't see how to get into it . I felt pretty small answering a/c questions when I couldn't even get into the unit. Spent an hour there trying not to look like a monkey. A screw was loose on the t-stat.

Space Conditioner. I can see the logo on the back after downloading the picture and blowing it up.
-
Looks like it has squirrel cage blowers for the condenser. I have seen one of these and think it was a Heil unit but not sure,
