body found in concrete @ hvac buisness in L.A.

hope it isn't one of our member's shop!

Authorities are trying to identify a man whose body was found encased in newly poured concrete at a Santa Fe Springs business in what detectives are classifying a homicide.

The body was discovered Sunday at a heating and air conditioning business after Whittier police, who patrol the city, received information about a possible killing.

Juan Alberto Galviz, 35, was arrested Sunday in connection with the death. He is being held in lieu of $1,007,500 bail, police said.

Detectives and coroner's officials uncovered the body after initially going to a nearby business. There, detectives "were able to locate a person of interest, and further information led them to the heating and air conditioning business in the 9400 block of John Street," said department spokesman Brad White.

The concrete was broken up and excavated, and the body of a male adult victim recovered. White said detectives are in the process of identifying the victim.

Detectives said preliminary investigation indicated that a crime had resulted from a "feud" between the victim and Galviz.

Their relationship between the men was not known.

How did the body end up at a business without the business knowing. Anyone at the business involved?

dunno, info wasn't in the article. it is under investigation.
there was maybe a grudge between murder vic & hvac owner.
but ...at this point its a maybe until their investigation progresses.

I doubt it. They'd know that concrete has a poor R-value.

I wonder what Santa did with his gifts since they were obviously undeliverable?
The picture in my avatar is of the Houston Ship Channel and was taken from my backyard. I like to sit outside and slap mosquitos while watching countless supertankers, barges and cargo ships of every shape and size carry all sorts of deadly toxins to and fro. It's really beautiful at times.....just don't eat the three eyed fish....

Shouldn't lay down when they are pouring concrete- they just keep on pouring- time is money.

aside from body disposal by hogs or alligators...putting a body
in a concrete slab...as long as it isn't your slab..would be
a good way to dispose of the body.
well until the body rots & slab has low spot.

killing is wrong IMO. I wanted to kill the man
who murdered my brother. since N.O. police didn't find
him....I did. hardest choice of my life was to call NOPD
& tell them where he was.
    just my experience.

now someone who harms family/children & cries for mercy and not
death sentance, no quarter from me. lethal injection is too kind
for someone who inflicted terror & suffering. IMO.

    oh well.....

Should have chained him to an engine block and dumped him in the Sulpher Mines and let the crabs have him.
If you can't fix it with JB Weld, Duct Tape, and Ty Wire it has to be replaced.
