The filter is not the problem. If he has been using the same one for years he has a separate issue. The furnace needs at least a 1/2 hs motor and u need to set the speed to medium high for heat. The home owner needs to call a reliable company and get a REAL TECHNICIAN over there

what is your concern with the cap wiring? he did not mention brn/white and brn only purple and the motor speed taps and the info provided makes it wired correctly, except for the heat speed.

not that we/he knows, but why alter the motor size based on ASSUMED data? unless someone can test properly and interpret the data, using the motor specified by mfr would be advised.
also, not sure where your specs come from, but from Lennox it is a 1/2HP motor and rise is 45°-75° as I previously posted.

G23 is a gas furnace that uses the 1/2 hp torsion mount motor.
with external static of .50 rated at 1455 cfm.
