Rack Techs with Chiller and/or Boiler experience.

How many Rack Techs here have Engineered HVAC experience? I myself had some Rack experience when I worked for a few global companies specializing in Chillers and Boilers. What's new to me?
Racks having Evap. Cons. (guys around here call them Towers).
Racks' Heat Reclaim being used for Comfort Heating.
Racks being used for AC. Does this count as an Engineered HVAC System? I would think it's a Built-up System.
    What do you enjoy better?

where I'm at, those are all very common.

Air cooled condenser vs Evap. all the same to me. In the southwest there are a lot of "towers" because of the dryer climate.

Also, compressor racks on HVAC and heat reclaim for comfort is also common.

I prefer racks to open drives because of the redundancy . ...(I think that's what you're asking?) an open drive dies...your down , a comp dies on a rack .valve it off and replace.

Built up AHUs are also common here. I like them over "box car" or large packages because , I don't like roof work as much.

    where are you at?

In AZ. I did work for Walmart & Sam's Club in TX, which had Air Cooled Condensers. The stores had Packaged Units for Heating and Cooling, no Heat Reclaim and no Rack.

Yeah, Wally used to like the AAONs now he's all revved up on Lennox units , with Munters dehumid. They don't seem to like "built up" probably because of the size of their stores. Also ,they can replace every so many years. Not to mention, they probably have the suppliers on the ropes with the price they demand.

The only Walmarts I've seen with "towers" were the few our company did with shell and tube condensers ( Vegas and SoCal about8 years ago)..I'm sure they have more..Maybe some of the "pros" out there have seen another config somewhere else , but I haven't.
