Replacement ECM blower for older single stage furnace
I have a 1996 Ruud single stage gas furnace at our lake home and wonder if there is a replacement ECM blower that can be retrofitted? The furnace is in the 90% area and exhausts with PVC. I do not have the model and size right now( we live about 2 hours away). We had the ECM in a previous home and liked the quiet noise level and efficiencies when leaving the furnace fan in the ON position to keep air moving. Thank you in advance for any input.

Anything could be done with enough money, and constant torque.
But in this case, with a 1996 furnace, it would be smarter and cheaper to put in a new furnace.Last edited by NY2GA01; 12-26-2012 at 08:08 PM.

Yes there are several models of retrofit ecm motors on the market.
They are not cheap though.
Google evergreen motors or ecotech
