I wasn't condoning or agreeing with anything. I am simply stating that we all need to be free to express our opinions, or else we will be oppressed from one line of thinking or another. Conservative fascism is no better than liberal fascism is.
No one elses opinion of us should have any bearing on how we feel about ourselves, unless we choose to let those opinions have a bearing. If we don't like or agree with what others believe, then all we have to do is reject what they say. We don't have to opress them from being able to say what they believe. That is what the fascists on the left and the right do.Government is a disease......masquerading as its own cureEcclesiastes 10:2 NIV

I would never accuse you of being a coward glenn...... I am saying that the vast majority of ccw carry people are though.... and yes... probably wrong to bring trayvon into this.... but it was there....
In the future I will try to find examples of white men gunning down unarmed white teens for no reason and use that as an example of why I think they would run in the face of an armed opponent.
We are the minority Glenn.... old guys......who were brought up in a different world where folks had to make their own way and where folks took care of themselves and each other....
If this country needed me right now....Id be out there on the streets..... even though I cant even stand up straight today..... doing what I could to defeat the evil attacking us.... but I also believe that I would probably be knocked down many times in my march to the front by huge numbers of heavily armed a holes wearing 2nd amendment hats and tshirts..... running back away from the danger.
"Those were not unarmed teenagers"
"Im not a soldier, its not my job to defend the nation"
" Can someone produce a signed contract obligating me to the 2nd amendment"
"I got this hat and tshirt for free when I purchased a flashlight for my nation defender shotgun"
"Feets dont fails me now"Let go of my cracker jacks, If you dont Im going to have to beat you....... now then hand my captain crunch back over to me this instant.....or else !!!

Corny,
You're entitled to your opinion about us younger dudes.
I'm only 37, but I'll gnaw the balls off of a brass monkey if it comes down to it.
I was raised by an "old guy" and I was raised to BE an "old guy" and that is, largely, what I am.
I don't entirely disagree with your assessment of people, but that doesn't necessarily encompass ALL CCW holders.

Since some here have been labeled Socialists I'd be curious to know what it means to be a Socialist.
Below are four questions if anyone would like to answer or expound on Socialism.
1 - Is any program run & funded by the government to help their citizens considered a Socialist program?
2 - Does supporting any government program like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare etc.. make one a Socialist?
3 - Does believing the government has a duty to try to help its citizens make one a Socialist?
4 - Can one possibly vote Democratic & not be a Socialist?Gary

Corny you are still using a broad brush here. A lot of young posters will face up to thugs especially those who have served in harms way. Even those who have not but were raised right feel the same. So play it cool here and no one will lose there cool. Your first post on the subject was guaranteed to piss every American male off here. Thank you, thank you very much

I might just be heading this whole discussion in another direction, but.....
We've talked a lot about guns and whether or not implementing various forms of "gun control" will have any real effect on crime rates.
http://thefatherlessgeneration.wordp...om/statistics/
Let's talk about the white elephant. Let's talk about the REAL problem.
Lazy, good-for-nothing males (I REFUSE to call them MEN) that father children then run like Corny's second amendment supporters once they hear "I'm pregnant"
Sperm donors that shoot and run away when things get tough, setting a FINE example for their progeny.
I deal with quite a lot of young boys through scouting and I can almost pick out the ones with a two-parent home vs those with broken homes or single parent homes.
Folks, we can blame the gun all day long, but a gun, no matter HOW easy or difficult to obtain is nothing more than a tool. It has no personality, no morals or mind of its own. It is not good nor is it evil.
Only when used does it take on any characteristics that people would like to ascribe to it.
Perhaps, we need to look a little more closely at ourselves. Often a more painful and difficult thing than facing an armed opponent because it means that we might just have to admit to weakness or imperfection.
