Any time for refrigeration. It's not seasonal like a/c. Most a/c companys are really busy in the summer months and tend to slow down in the winter.
When is the best time to look for a commercial refrigeration job? When do employers typically hire?

If you're half way decent with your head and tools , you'll always have a job , or will be able to get one anytime in this trade..
There is no season for refrigeration. Yes Summer is technically busier , but there usually is always need for techs .
September LOL I've worked at 4 shops in the last 15 years. The first 2 and my current shop hired me in September

The best time to look for a job, is when you have a job.
I've had 6 or 7 jobs throughout this year.

If your a good ref tech you'll get hired pretty much when ever you want. Contrary to popular belief good ref techs are not a dime a dozen and good companies know this very well. They will scoop them up every chance they get.
How about just starting out on the refer side?

Start hitting it heavy early to mid spring. Shops will start their summer hiring.

You could ask the guys at the parts house, they might be able to point you towards a company that would likely hire you.
Trying to break into refer work with some HVAC experience. Did mainly PM's for Safeway. Would like to break into refer work full time. Working apt maintenance right now.

You might have a fair chance of getting hired. Do you work well under pressure? Think fast on your feet?
I will probably start slow and pick it up. Mainly started as a PM guy, would like to make it service full time.
