I am willing to consider it if compelling evidence is found that "gun free zones" are the prime causation of the selection of the crine scene.
How can their motives be truly be found since all but one were killed or committed suicide?

If you were listening to the news, rather than flapping your mouth... you would have heard (repeatedly) the NRA chose to not respond for a week because of the pain the survivors felt. They acted a lot more professionally than most of the media did.

You guys who understand what truth is... need to remember something: GeerAir is here for sport only... he does not care about the issues. IMO Geer is one of those folks who would disarm the public, while having a posse of bodygaurds with Uzi's... and think nothing of the blatant hypocrisy. .

His record here is clear to folks who have been around for a while.

    Very well said.

The news media are little more than talking heads and misery whores.

Thus creating the situation we have now.

We cannot PROVE a definite causative, but the statistics point to the fact that they ARE indeed choosing Gun Free Zones for their shootings for the reason that they won't encounter resistance there.

If it weren't so, we would expect to see a more random distribution of shooting sites.

    It's only logical.

They remained quiet for a week because they knew how their comments would be taken by the public.

To ask the public to train and hire millions of armed guards rather than to first tell that mother she should have never left that kid alone with those guns shows how out of touch they are. Oh, that’s right, the guns did not empower that kid. He could have done that without the guns.

It is called respect Brian; something folks do for others from a heart of doing it for themselves also. Funny how that works...

Have you forgotten that Adam Lanza KILLED his mother.

Probably because she wouldn't give him the guns that he couldn't legally buy.

Yeah, more gun control is the answer......

The NRA could publicly recommend that that mother should not have owned guns with an unstable, mentally deranged son in the house. But the NRA will seldom discourage gun sales.

Gun control is not the answer, gun education is…starting with rewriting the stupid slogan that “guns don’t kill.”

If intent to kill is more of a threat than the possession of a gun then why don’t the police agree? Why do police respond in more force when someone is peacefully walking down the street with an AR-15 than when someone is walking down the street shouting “I am going to kill someone” but does not have a gun?

The slogan is accurate. If guns kill people, then all of mine are defective.

Perhaps, the police respond in a certain way because that is what is expected of them by an ignorant population rather than out of any REAL reason.

    How about this?

When Adam Lanza was denied the sale of a firearm by the NICS check, why wasn't he arrested?

Why weren't his motives for attempting to purchase a gun questioned?

No, he was denied and he walked away clean.

ENFORCEMENT of the laws that we have will do more than any new laws could possibly do.

This thread proves that those who repeat NRA slogans and mindset are incapable of solving this problem. The heads of the NRA should have been forced to walk through that classroom and come back to tell us that gun possession had nothing to do it.
