OK, out of frustration of the extremist leftists who keep crying that guns kill, I just knocked off a half dozen libbies by stabbing one, suffocating one, poisoning one, drowning one, set one on fire and caused one to have a heart attack by forcing him to listen to Rush Limbaugh for five minutes (he lasted longer than I would have). I feel better now, and no one was injured by guns.

This forum reminds me of the movie The Last Samurai.
All the buildup of being bad to the bone but when the poop hits the fan we will all end up like the samurai do at the ending of the movie.
What's this talk of the left in stilling fear into the minds of citizens? Was it not the right that passed the patriot act so that strange men could scan our daughters with a device that looked past her clothes, and then those strange men could frisk them?
It's ALWAYS the left with you people.
I think you listen to Limbaugh too much.... the man who declares the left as the enemy.....helllloooo (EDIT), they are Americans just like the right....it's guys like this that want to divide us.Last edited by Gib's Son; 01-13-2013 at 11:24 PM. Reason: Inapropirate Lanuguage

I do not think you understand what the writers of the 2nd amendment had in mind... and I might remind you SCOTUS ruled recently that private ownership of guns IS A RIGHT!
Sorry... the law of the land trumps this 'feeling' of what is 'safe' and what is not.
Might want to watch this video... posted a few pages back by DW:

While GA is not as 'colorful' as Texas or a few other states concerning guns and gun rights (sometimes I really MISS living in Texas)... We are not shy about our guns either.
As one that is involved in the gun community... I can say without reservation there are few "Rambo's" around... The folks I know are well trained and voluntarily stay proficient.
What I CAN say is: These trained private citizens (trained and permitted to carry) are the BIGGEST threat to criminals in the state (yes, a much larger threat to criminals than the LE community).
Couple of side notes about GA:
We have a growing number of school districts (most of them are county-wide) who are gonna train and arm the office staff at schools (concealed carry).
I have visited a bunch of gun stores since NewTown... pretty much the same story everywhere: The day after BHO was re-elected... guns started flying off the shelves! At the gun show in Dec... all gun prices and ammo prices were WAAAY up (yes, supply and demand is alive and well).
Folks down this way are SERIOUS about their right to protect themselves... I just hope we do not have a showdown over some legal issues... It would not be pretty.GA-HVAC-Tech

I am sorry... I read in many a post in this thread... yes, the WHOLE thread... MANY a post where folks on the right were chastised for wrong legislation when it comes to 2nd amendment rights.
MeThinks the poster has an issue with the right... rather than listening and understanding the discussion.
As to the movie "The Last Samurai" When mankind does not have something they passionately believe in... they are degenerate and worthless. Folks NEED something to believe in... it makes them the persons they can be!
When folks understand this... they understand adulthood.GA-HVAC-Tech

Scotus also said that local and state governments can also put restrictions on what they will and wont allow.... such as large capacity mags....barrel lengths....handgrips..... add on stuff....
Sooooooooo that means a 40 pound single shot pistol in caliber .22 rimfire.....can be made the only legal handgun a given local or state government will allow.....
Scotus said you cant ban all handguns....or all rifles....... but you can pretty much put whatever restrictions you want on them.
80 inch minimum barrel length..... 40 pound minimum weight...... strobe lights...... lol
But dont worry.... what Im hearing on the old grapevine is that there are not going to be wholesale ban guns....... but they are going to be making purchasing ammo prohibitive for all but the wealthy and elite.....and of course those of you who would let your family starve to feed your desire for more bullets..... 25 bucks for a box of 50 .22 shells...... 80 bucks for 20 .223.... 75.00 for a box of 7 and 1/2s....... 100.00 for five 00 buck. I have an old box of 5 Sears OO buck..... Got some old paper shells too...but they are more collectibles than anything else..... powder is probably no good..... bet those sears 00 bucks are still good though.
Id say by next year we will be seeing guys with
"I'll do anything for a couple of 9mm cartridges, and I mean anything"
signs on the street corners..... fighting the bums for curb space......lolLet go of my cracker jacks, If you dont Im going to have to beat you....... now then hand my captain crunch back over to me this instant.....or else !!!

The Patriot Act was put into place because we needed an emergency agency to respond to a specific act of terrorism against the U.S. Like everything else, the leftists got back into power and instead of letting the Patriot Act fade out as things settled down, they increased the powers of the Patriot act to increase the size and cost of government and to increase the ways of controlling Americans.
Conservatives react in response to war. Liberals use wartime acts in time of peace to expand Socialism in the U.S.Government is a disease......masquerading as its own cureEcclesiastes 10:2 NIV

As is typical of your corninus posts, there is an element of truth in what you say. Price of Ammo around here has doubled, so so speak. What could be purchased for X for 100 rounds is still X but for only 50 rounds. Gun bans etc. would be too hard because of that nasty old Constitution thing. But that old rag paper say's nothing about taxing or protecting access to ammo. It's a back door that the founding fathers did not think of. This could mean the resurrection of the mighty Muskatoon.
If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what will never be. (Thomas Jefferson 1816)

There is concern by many about the "perceived" problems with guns, so if a gun owner by having is gun(s) at home unsecured for example, is effecting the happiness of a non gun owner (a neighbor,), then surly your original founding document, must take priority over the second amendment. In favor of the non gun owner.

Reactionary, exaggerated hoopla. Makes for good news and great business for gun ammo dealers. Really, those fools in DC know none of this will be saving lives when the lone fruitcake gets a hold of an auto shotgun, 2 Glocks with 10- 10 rd mags again, or truck full of fertilizer and ignition directions. What kills the most people that is licensed and controlled by laws? Cars and then, alcohol and drugs. Not guns.
We live in a violent and disintegrating culture that is soon coming to a time the Bible talked about. The toothpaste is not going back in the tube and there is no turning back. And there are powerful folks who know this and are planning what to do with the masses once the meltdown begins.

this is quit possibly the stupidest thing I have read yet. how is MY guns, in MY home effect
my neighbors happiness, let alone anyone else on the planet? Thats like saying my neighbor smokes pot, and it's ruining MY life....ludicrous
Is the "non-gun owner" now a superior citizen to me, am I now a second class citizen because I own a firearm.
So your argument is, A unarmed citizen has more rights than an armed citizen. That a unarmed citizen has the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, but armed citizens do NOT!!!
Congrats, you just beat Corny as the dumbest post yetGOVERNMENT
