It is not just the NRA....

There are a host of gun organizations out there... the NRA is probably the most passive of them all. The press likes to ignore the rest... thinking in their naivete the public may not find them... LOL.

I do not remember the name... however there is one organization that is something like $10M strong... and supported by atty's in all 50 states. Their mission is to take down laws through litigation which argue with the 2nd amendment. They were key players in overturning the CCW ban in Ill recently.

The gun crowd is alive and well and STRONG in America... Corny you are just dreaming... or instigating.

It is unfortunate that she was killed. Nobody should die that way. However we should learn from her mistakes and IMO we are not focusing as much on her as we should. Not one peep from the NRA. She is just one in a million gun owners that should take more reasonability for the safekeeping of their firearms. We could be educating people about making guns inaccessible to any young people, nutty people, rough people, violent people or gang types that might know we have guns or that might obtain them through a home robbery. Guns stored in high-crime, rough areas definitely need to be secured.

If we scrutinized people’s methods of securing guns in their homes the way we scrutinize every Middle Easterner getting on a plane we could reduce the number of guns on the street without giving up anything. We don’t need the govt. to fix this, we can do it on our own, but organizations like the NRA should think more about what is right than what is right for them. Funny, that is what we say about the entitlement crowd…only thinking about themselves.

In the process of doing what you propose... a whole host of Constitutional rights, Bill of Rights, and Amendments would be violated.

The price if freedom is the price of freedom. If the principle had been carrying... probably less than half a dozen at the most would be dead. Maybe none if the school was not a gun-free zone... the idiot kid may have gone somewhere else.

Now how would you resolve that? Put the key somewhere safe... OK, where is safe? Or perhaps have a combo lock on the gun storage... And the kid picks the lock?

You really do not know nor understand what the Founding Documents say... do you. Govt is restricted from many of the things you propose... and for good reason!

Take away those restrictions... and the USA becomes a Banana dictatorship... You wanna live in one of those... that is your choice... However I and many million Americans understand how dangerous that is... and do NOT want to go there.
