It's always amazing how a bunch of short sighted people can cause such long reaching problems. It would be interesting if the Sandy Hook massacure would have been done with say a commercial lawn mower, would thay be calling for a ban on commercial mowers? I don't think so. You can fill in your own weapon of choice, but it is only the gun crimes that get the attention.

First we have people comparing guns to automobiles. The big difference is guns usually kill on purpose where cars are usually an accident. Most people can deal better with an accident than well calculated massacres.
Now to compare things like the gun massacre at sandy hook to commercial lawn mower crime will not be given much respect in the debate of gun control and only gives people who want more gun control reason to say the oppostition is weak.

We use to take fire arm to school all the time so we could go hunting after school and nobody ever shot anyone and there was nothing wrong with bringing a fire arm to school.
I just don't understand what happened to society.I dont warranty Tinkeritus

I hope Corny is just blowing off steam... if that is truly what he believes... well I agree he may be one of the first put in that cage.
Oh, BTW: I disagree about Kitty's story... I think it COULD well happen that way here. The problem is corrupt folks who use govt to promote their personal power. It is called tyranny. The 2nd amendment was designed to stop that.
GA is gonna start a thread on the 2nd amendment sometime soon (time is the issue).GA-HVAC-Tech

I just wonder if maybe one or two of those innocent children who were slaughtered could have survived had this sick madman not have been shooting them with a device built to kill quickly.
Perhaps not and we will never know.
So I guess a few young innocent lives are not important enough for us to even discuss whether or not this rifle should be able to be purchased.

Funny maybe only one or two would have been killed if adults with a CCW permit were allowed to pack in the school. Instead of 27 innocent children and adults.

FYI Corny,
Just this week a boy was randomly shooting in a parking lot of a movie theatre in San Antonio, TX. A woman with a ccw and a loaded pistol shot and stopped him before he could enter the building. Instead of just submitting opinions, use a basis for legitimate arguing points.
As to the op, I can't wait to see them try and do house to house seizures of weapons in Texas. They may get a few in the beginning, but once word gets out to the public...

Maybe but the only one who had one was the madman.
And that is not really an answer to the question.
Shouldn't we at least discuss the selling of these rifles or consider anyone who wants to own one have to go thru some type of review board prior to being able to purchase one?
Had the mother not had the guns or had locked up her guns properly then perhaps none of the children or teachers would have been slaughtered.
I am not for taking away your rights to own one. I just want some additional measures to be put in place for those who DO want to own one.
Surely we can come to some sort of common ground on that.
Well maybe not.
