Modified Heatcraft service cap
I came upon this gem today and was utterly amazed! I can imagine the conversation from the tech and his helper after they finished changing the compressor. "Hey Billy, we are missing a cap, lemme run down to the truck and grab a new one". "Listen here youngbuck, we don't have time for that. Lemme show you a trick that works wonders for leaky schraeders!"
Yes, it is what it looks like. A rubber plug from the new compressor was slathered in leaklock and firmly placed over said leaky schraeder. I was amazed. This whole time I have been throwing them away thinking that they were useless.

Nice. It looks like the other plug is supporting the tubing. OEM compressor mounting hardware as well. Very Crafty.

We just got this account back. Once the GM left the new GM picked his own service company. Needless to say the old GM is back and went back with us.
I can tell exactly what equipment the previous service company touched because leak lock is on EVERYTHING. Schraeder cap, king valve caps, flare fittings, you name it. If it had threads and was a freezer, cooler, walkin and reachin, or ice machine that he touched. There is leak lock on it.

That rubber plug has cracks been on there quite awhile ago.
