I don't think that goes there.

Another system cycling on limit. They've had 2 other guys out already. Looks like one replaced limit switch and the other reduced gas pressure. I noticed airflow was low. coil and filters were clean. Looked through the heat exchanger and noticed something out of place. Worst part is, it didnt just come loose, it was put together this way.

Yea, that's a slight airflow restriction.

I had this in a resi unit.

customer said motor was recently replaced by another company. while I cannot remember details, seems this was a landlord/tenant thing and I think the handyman was in there.

funny thing is, they had to "make" this work. it does not just go there without more screws or something to hold it there.

    motor was toast.

replaced it and cap, moved baffle and customer commented on the amount of airflow now versus after last repair.

I'm guessing high limit or high head in heat and frozen in the summer. How something like that ever works at all is amaizing and then there's the system that seems perfect and gets all quirky for no reason.

I dont know when it was put together this way. But i did find out that it had icing issues this past summer, and 2 guys were out before me for the high limit issue.

Darn it, now I have to start looking to see if the blower housing was put together correctly? I bet the guy was talking on the phone during the assembly process.

assume...... means ass of you and me!

Never assume anything is right, even from the factory. Found a 15T rooftop that had NEVER been brazed at the evaporator manifold. Someone's fix? Jump out both LP limits.......
