Should I call a technician?
My Carrier 8000 VS model 58CVX090 doesn't seem to be working properly. Here's what is happening:
I set my thermostat at 68 degrees. The house temperature could be 59 degrees or anything number below 68. The furnace kicks in (meaning that I can see the flame going inside the unit) for about 30 seconds. Flame stops, the fan blows for maybe another minute. Then the flame starts up again, the fan goes off. This goes on repeatedly and basically doesn't really warm up the house. If might take 1/2 hour to raise the temperature 1 degree. I just moved into the house this summer and I just noticed the furnace doing this. The thermostat is set for a 6 heat cycles/hr. I tried playing around with this setting and the furnace does the same thing regardless of the setting.
Does my furnace need servicing? Or should I replace my programmable Totaline themostat?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Cal

Call for service.
Checked your air filter lately? If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.
