I am hooking up a wunderbar soda dispenser in my home. I have a water softener connected to my home. Will soft water cause any problems with the cabonator or pumps?
But how are you keeping the club soda cooled?
I have had a wunder bar gun in my house for 18 years now, I took my head off and drilled a hole in the sink next to the faucet.
Chilling by a plate or a barrel cooler in a frig, even a 4 barrel cooler will not do it. It will not get down to temp. I have my soda lines s/s and cooled by a AEA4430YXA unit with xpan and cp valve.
Which xpan and cp valve ?

So, i have a customer that built a new bar (non-commercial) he has a wunder bar system and does not want the guys that install them on his proporty!! I do his refrigeration, a couple reach ins a soda box, under counter stuff, 3 ice machines!!
anyway hes asked me to move the wunder bar and its gona take at least 20 foot lines instead of the 6 foot line he has now..he also would like to not have the cool plate in his copper sinks...
will it be as simple as replacing the short lines with the longer ones (by the way the syrup will be outside in a room hes having made!) can the CO2 be out there too??
any help or links will be much appreciated.....last thing i want is soda everywhere...
Primmers this is a project if its your first install. Do you have acess to beverage parts? You're going to need about 200ft. of tubing (number of buttons on gun plus 2), Stainless steel fittings and clamps etc. Also need cold plate covered with ice, gun should be as close as possible to sink. Can you place a cocktail sink behind bar? You have a working system draw it out, Take pictures. Yours will be the same only longer runs. Is new room heated if so yes co2 can be placed there. Just remember this is gonna kill you timewise.
SSfittings a must.
ezone, dude i have the whole system now..it was working and we shut it down, i drew a cartoon of everything..where do i get the tubing?? i have the special plyiers for the clamps..i need clamps too.
what needs to be next to the sink (gun)..cause id like to put as much as i can outside in the dog house thats going to be built for the syrup..
Primmer don t know where you're located. Internet search for beverage tubing or parts should get you going. Oeiter clamps can be found at same or Graingers Supply.
Distance from cold plate or cooling source to gun should be as short as possilble to prevent co2 breakout= foaming soda = flat soda, everything else can be remoted to other room. What do you mean when you say doghouse?
I've been in beverage for 12 years now.
Yeah, you want the gun as close as possible to the chiller, whether it be electric water bath chiller or aluminum cold plate.
Soft water does not carbonate as well as plain, filtered water. the sodium kinda makes it difficult. Also, try to run the soda line through multiple passes of the chiller. Bar guns are low quality drinks because they are intended for a small drink with booze added. When used to fill full cups and drinks, the soda passes through the cold plate to quickly. So multiple passes maintains better carbonation.
Please dont use generic home depot vinyl tubing, even if reinforced. It is likely to swell and either burst or leak at the fitting.
Try Foxx or micromatic beer, the tubing and clamps can be very cheap. Look for local guys, pepsi and coke bothe have it and they both use subcontractors everywhere that may sell you parts.
3Wire has everything you need to do the job.
ezone, a doghouse is a covered and weather protected room..
pdrake65, got a link for 3wire??
