Flow Through Humidifier On Down Flow Furnace?
I've been asked to install a flow through humidifier on a down flow furnace. The furnace is on the main floor, the return comes from the attic, and the supply is below in a crawl space just below the furnace. I've never seen this setup. Can it be done and if so should it be on the supply or return side. Thanks for any input.

Everything can be done with the right amount of effort and expense. Maybe this is a better fit for a fan forced humidifier that is not flow through. I wouldn't suggest mounting a whole house humidifier in the crawlspace though as they do require regular maintenance that can be as often as once a month. That is unless you like crawlspaces.
Use the biggest hammer you like, pounding a square peg into a round hole does not equal a proper fit.
