    Basically I clean / chase threads and apply Loctite 554, sparingly. You will need 2 wrenches to remove the fitting. -GEO

    On low pressure 554 or Loctite 567 white paste,Teflon tape will not hold up to r-123

    According to who ?
    Why would Trane supply a teflon ribbon to be used in conjunction with the suction elbow O ring if Teflon was not compatible with
    R123 ?

    On low pressure I like, as mentioned by other, the loctite 567. I prefer the 544 on higher pressure machines.
