About time. They have 180 days to come up with a law.

ALLRIGHT!
I heard a while back about that case going through the courts... glad it is resolved.
I doubt the libs will let it lie... they have too much vested in the politics of fear. Probably take a few more cases to truly get gun freedom in Ill.
For now, chalk one up for the good guys...

Great to hear. My bro. in law in Joliet will be HAPPY.
I bet them politicians in Chi-town are shaken in their 3 piece suits...I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but compared to some I'm a razor...

If our politicians can carry http://news.yahoo.com/illinois-lawma...024620350.html then there's no reason we shouldn't. The gang on gang crime won't change, but with any luck robberies and home invasions will go down as well as gang/crackhead on civillian crime. I'm willing to bet Chicago will try and make it extremely difficult to carry in the city proper. Right now, to have a gun in the home, one needs to take a course, pay a $100 for a firearm permit to be renewed every 3 years, and register each gun with the CPD at a cost of $15. per firearm....Except the bad guys. They do what they want.
Edit: and that is after paying the fee for the FOID card, a $15 background check for each firearm purchased, and soon to be implemented $25 per firearm Crook County taxLocal 597 Service Fitter

Yeah, I suspect Chicago and Cook Cty will tax the heck out of gun ownership and CCW permits... along with endless BS to qualify.
GA is kinda at the opposite extreme: One gets a CCW permit, costs around $100 give or take, lasts 5 years. Part of this is a GBI background check and finger-printing... they are doing the printing digitally now.
Get a felony... you loose your permit and are not eligible for another... ever. Also some rules about mental cases, spousal abuse, and child-support... everything depends on paying child support in GA for some reason... guess the single Mom's association (being facetious) has a strong lobby.
The part I do not care for is: There is NO training requirement at all... anyone of age without a record gets one. IMO there should be a safety course, including understanding the laws of GA. I would not mind 4 hrs of supervised range time being part of it also.GA-HVAC-Tech

Dang.
I'm staying in PA.
Fill out application. Pay $30 (give or take a fiver), go through NICS, get picture taken, get permit printed and handed to you.
Shoooooot. A C-note for a permit? A $15 PER GUN tax??
that.
