    Seems like a better thermostat should accomplish the same thing. A VP iaq with the right settings should only bring on high stage when really needed.

    I alerts like to use all ghost homes with geothermal as an example. Most rarely needed aux and are only delivering mine 40k in homes that you know soul have had a 60 or 80k furnace installed.

    If you work a had bill backwards you be apprised at how little peak btus are needed using average daily temp as the variable.

    Using a nice Honeywell IAQ stat, set cycle rates down as low as possible, then added a 10 min delay after stat energizes second stage, disabling second stage was a fun little test
