I have ComfortVIEW 3.0. I went out to a jobsite with an existing CCN network (1600 controller with 6 Carrier boxcars and a NAM module, with a LID-Local, Interface Display, also). I can direct connect to the CCN network fine. I have a number to the modem connected to the NAM. When I try to connect to the database remotely it gives me a "unable to connect to a local gateway to remote CCN" error. Does this mean I cannot use my computers internal modem? Do I need to have a external modem to dial out? Or am I just missing something? It sure would be nice to adjust the schedules remotely instead of going to the jobsite. I can use ComfortVIEW fine but I rarely use it and I'm cetainly no expert so please go into details if you have a solution.
Thanks everyone

By the way I dialed out to the modem on the regular phone and got the usual modem sounds so I know something is there. ComfortVIEW gives me no indication it ever dials out.

Well the first thing is to make sure you have the Gateway setup in "ComfortView Setup" and make sure you have assigned the correct comms port that the modem resides on.
From there your internal modem should dial out and you should hear all the usual beeps and squeals when you try to connect to a remote site in Network Manager.
Hope this helps you out
